Welcome to StartACall. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of our web-based VoIP calling platform and all related services.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, using our Service, or clicking "I agree," you are entering into a legally binding agreement with StartACall. You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
2. Description of Service
StartACall provides a web-based Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service that allows users to:
Make Calls
Make and receive international calls directly from your browser
Manage Numbers
Purchase and manage virtual phone numbers
Manage Contacts
Store and organize your contacts in one place
Payment Model: The Service is provided on a pay-as-you-go basis.
3. User Accounts & Responsibilities
Account Creation
To use the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and creating a password, or by using Google OAuth. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
User Conduct
You are responsible for your conduct and any data, text, or other materials ("Content") that you transmit through the Service.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful or prohibited purpose. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:
Illegal Activities
Engaging in fraud, scams, or any activity that violates local, national, or international law.
Harmful Content
Transmitting material that is harassing, defamatory, threatening, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
Robocalling
Using the Service for automated or mass calling operations without proper consent and legal compliance.
Unauthorized Access
Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or computer systems or networks.
Service Disruption
Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Service or the data contained therein.
Consequences of Violation
Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and forfeiture of any remaining credits, without a refund.
5. Safety, Security & Compliance
Commitment to Safety & Legal Compliance
We take fraud prevention and user safety seriously. To protect our community, we actively monitor for suspicious activity and maintain detailed records including IP addresses, call logs, and user information. Any use of our platform for scams, harassment, prank calls, swatting, or other illegal activities will result in immediate account termination and full cooperation with law enforcement agencies, including sharing all collected data as required by law.
Identity Verification
- •IP Intelligence: We block registrations from VPNs, Tor nodes, and data centers to prevent anonymous abuse.
- •Device Fingerprinting: We utilize device fingerprinting to detect and block serial account creators.
- •Email Screening: Disposable and temporary email addresses are strictly prohibited.
Phone & Payment Security
- •Real Mobile Numbers Only: Users must verify with a valid mobile carrier number. VoIP numbers (e.g., Google Voice, TextNow) are rejected.
- •No Prepaid Cards: We do not accept prepaid cards or anonymous payment methods.
- •Velocity Checks: We monitor for number recycling and excessive verification attempts.
Active Monitoring & Rate Limiting
To prevent robocalling and harassment, we enforce strict rate limits on call frequency. We utilize automated systems to detect suspicious patterns, including sequential dialing and high volumes of short-duration calls. Violations result in immediate suspension.
Prohibited Destinations
Calls to government institutions, emergency services, and known high-risk destinations are strictly blocked at the network level.
Data Retention & Law Enforcement
We maintain comprehensive logs for a minimum of 2 years, including verified phone numbers, IP addresses, device fingerprints, and call metadata. We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.
6. Payments, Credits & Subscriptions
Calling Credits
The Service operates on a credit-based, pay-as-you-go system. You must purchase calling credits in advance to make calls. The rates for calls to different destinations are displayed within the platform.
Phone Number Subscriptions
You may purchase virtual phone numbers on a monthly subscription basis. Subscription fees are charged in advance for each billing cycle.
Billing
All payments are processed through our third-party payment processor, Stripe. By providing a payment method, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees.
Rate Changes
We reserve the right to change our calling rates and subscription fees at any time. We will provide you with reasonable notice of any such changes.
7. Refund Policy
✓Fully Unused Credits
Credits that have never been used may be refunded within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days, credits become non-refundable but never expire.
Partially Used Credits
Credits that have been partially used are non-refundable, regardless of the amount used or time elapsed since purchase.
Example: If you purchase $10 in credits and use $0.01, the remaining $9.99 cannot be refunded but will remain in your account indefinitely.
Technical Issues Exception
The only exception to the partial-use policy is when credits were consumed due to a verified technical error on our platform that prevented normal service delivery.
- •Calls that failed to connect but were charged
- •Duplicate charges for the same call
- •System errors resulting in incorrect billing rates
Ineligible for Refunds
No refunds will be issued for:
- •Credits older than 14 days (even if unused)
- •Any credits that have been partially used
- •Accounts terminated for Terms of Service violations
- •Dissatisfaction with call quality due to user's internet connection
- •Phone number subscription fees (monthly charges)
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, contact support@startacall.com within 14 days of purchase with:
- • Your account email
- • Transaction ID or date of purchase
- • Reason for refund request
Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5-7 business days.
Your Credits Never Expire
While we maintain a strict refund policy, your unused credits remain in your account indefinitely. There are no expiration dates, maintenance fees, or inactivity charges. You can use your balance whenever you need it.
8. Service Quality & Availability
Our Commitment
We strive to provide a high-quality, reliable service with 99.9% uptime.
However, call quality and service availability can be affected by factors outside of our control, including:
Your internet connection
Network congestion
Public telephone network quality
Disclaimer: We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
9. Emergency Services - 911 Calling
Critical Warning
THE SERVICE IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR A TRADITIONAL PHONE LINE. YOU CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT USE THE SERVICE FOR EMERGENCY CALLS (E.G., 911).
For Emergency Calls
You must use a traditional landline or mobile phone to make emergency calls.
Liability Disclaimer
StartACall is not liable for any claim, damage, or loss arising from your inability to use the Service for emergency calls.
10. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including all underlying software, technology, and content (excluding your Content), are and will remain the exclusive property of StartACall and its licensors.
You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the Service.
11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
"AS IS" Service
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, express or implied.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StartACall shall not be liable for any:
- •Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- •Loss of profits or revenues (whether incurred directly or indirectly)
- •Loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
These limitations apply regardless of whether they result from your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Service.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StartACall, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from:
Your Use of the Service
Any claims arising from your access to and use of the Service
Violation of Terms
Any breach or violation of any term of these Terms
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including for a breach of these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
14. Changes to the Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any material changes by posting the new Terms on our website or by sending you an email.
Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
